Today i start write about undergraduate project( or final project). At the beginning the last month i start my study to build my final project. Actually, i'm still at the beginning, there're a lot of the things that i'll must to study yet. But i want to start write about it because when i really write my final project i'd have several reports that it'll be helpful.
When i start my undergraduate course i was already thinking what kind of research i'd like to do in my final project. And my choice was a research that i could explore all, or almost all, field studied in my undergraduate course. So, with that in mind, i choice to research about Real-Time Fluid Simulation. Perhaps you thinking what's the reason that i choice this area. To satisfy your curiosity if have it, i'll try explain.
Early in my academic life i become a little "beginning research" and this year is my third year as "beginning research". In my research i study several numerical methods and , for apply this numerical method, dynamic fluids. In addition, i also study a little about parallel programming which is very necessary in computational fluid dynamic (CFD). With such knowledge in mind is natural i use it in my final project too. But i don't like very much of pure numerical mathematic and fluid dynamic. I like to use it for apply in some area more interesting and more beautiful. Therefore i found a area that i can apply all this knowledge: fluid simulation for games and movies. But fluid simulation for games and movies is a world, actually a big world. In this way, i only choice fluid simulation for games or real-time fluid simulation. There're a lot of the field that we need to apply for build a real-time fluid simulation:
- Mathematics ( equations and numerical methods).
- Physics.
- Algorithms.
- Computer Architecture.
- Computer Graphics.
